(Windsor, Ontario) - The St. Clair College Men's Baseball team is excited to announce the commitment of several recruits for the 2017 season with some on hand Wednesday morning at the SportsPlex to put on the Saints jersey for the first time.

The Tecumseh Thunder Midget 18U team who recently qualified for the Nationals by winning the Ontario Elimination tournament are well represented in this year's St. Clair recruiting class with three players committed to the Saints. 6'5 Left Hand Pitcher Mitchell Prsa (Tecumseh, ON/Tecumseh Vista Academy) has enrolled in the Pre-Health Science program this fall with 5'9 Catcher Curtis Cunningham (Lasalle, ON/St. Thomas of Villanova) battery mate also looking to make an impact for the Saints right away. 5'10 Outfielder Carson Burke (Tecumseh, ON/St. Anne) will be taking Advertising and Marketing Communications at St. Clair and owns three OFSAA championships in baseball at the high school level.

Saints Head Coach Dave Cooper is pleased to bring in more talent from the Tecumseh Thunder program which has supplied many strong players over his years at St. Clair. "These three are strong fundamentally and fit the system we have in place at the college. I credit the coaching staff in the Thunder organization for preparing them for the next level," said Cooper about Prsa, Burke and Cunningham.

Tecumseh Thunder 18U Midget team Head Coach Brit Johnson had some nice words for his graduating team members. "Curtis handled our pitching staff with ease as a catcher and totally shuts the running game down. His compete level is second to none and he will be a huge boost to the Saints roster as he can also play outfield and pitch at the college level," said Johnson of Cunningham.

"Carson is an Ian Kinsler type leadoff hitter who is a good contact hitter with power and runs with above average speed. Defensively he covers ground in the outfield with the best of them. He pretty much runs down anything hit his way and finishes the play off with his rifle arm," said Johnson about Burke.

Johnson commented further on Prsa by saying, "Mitchell is an intimidating figure on the mound standing 6'5 and throws a live fastball that comes easily out of his hand. He's often the first player at the park doing pitching exercises on his own."

Another pair of Tecumseh natives who play club ball for the Windsor Selects will also be joining the Saints roster in 6'1 Infielder/Catcher Josh Talerico (Tecumseh, ON/Tecumseh Vista Academy) and 6'0 Right Hand Pitcher Seth Chauvin (Tecumseh, ON/L'Essor). Talerico has signed up for Motive Power Technician with Chauvin enrolling in the Pre-Health Science program. 5'10 Second Basemen Patrick Kibble (Windsor, ON/Riverside) is another Selects product and won a WECSSAA title and OFSAA Bronze medal this past spring who will be taking the Paramedic program at St. Clair's Chatham campus in the fall.

St. Clair can also boast a pair of players from out of town in 6'3 First Baseman/Left Fielder Keeshaun Such (Hantsport, NS) and 5'10 Second Baseman Josh Simpson (Mississauga, ON). Such is most recently a product of the Badlands Baseball Academy which is based out of Oyen, Alberta while Simpson has spent time with the Mississauga Southwest Twins, Ontario Blue Jays and Ontario Terriers porgrams.
