People standing in front of a lot of donations

Library services have just completed another successful Departmental Food Drive competition and benefitting the SRC and TSI food banks this holiday season. Departments across all campuses collected boxes of food items in a competition with each other to see who could bring in the most items. Many departments came together to donate to this cause and foster a little friendly competition within the college community. The library plans to keep this tradition alive each holiday season, as it fosters teamwork and a sense of community on campus for a good cause.

In tandem with the Departmental Food Drive, the library runs a "Food for Fines" campaign wherein library patrons with library fines can come in with a food donation and have their fees waived in exchange for the donation.

Together with the Departmental Food Drive, which ran for the second consecutive year this year, the college community was able to collect a total of 8,402 items!

The SRC and TSI Food banks are an important resource for the college's community, helping about 150 St Clair College students a month, and over 400 students signed up for their services last year.

The College has run a variety of campaigns this holiday season to benefit the SRC and TSI food banks, and these generous donations have allowed them to provide holiday meals to 55 single students, as well as 55 parents and their 95 children!

The library and the SRC/TSI thanks everyone who donated, participated, and helped accomplish this. Thank you to Human Resources, Health Sciences, Student Services, The Registrar's office, Indigenous Services, Student donators, the Downtown and Chatham campuses and everyone who contributed to making the campaign a great success.
